CHOROS A LA CHALACA
( Mussels Callao Style )

Ingredients:

  • 3 dozen mussels.
  • 2 onions cut in dices .
  • 1 green hot pepper cut in dices .
  • 1 tablespoon ground garlic .
  • 1 corn , boiled ( separate the kernels from it )
  • lemon juice .
  • Oil.
  • Chopped parsley.
  • Salt and pepper .

Preparation:

Wash mussels well and cook them in salted water . Drain them, take out the shells from them and with a teaspoon take the dark part out .

In another bowl, mix onion , hot pepper and add salt, pepper and lemon juice .

Add the corn kernels , ground hot pepper and a dash of oil. Mix well .Place each mussel in half shell and cover it with onion sauce. We usually serve 6 mussels per serving.
