 Tourism:

The olives, sweets, fruits, the country
customs, the religious festivals and the old traditions make up the folklore of Moquegua.
Its economical activity is important, with much commerce and visitors. The major
attractions for the tourism are the natural beauties of the region. For example, the
Lariscota, Vizcachas and Pasto Grande lagoons, offering a first class attraction to the
visitor. In them hunting and fishing are favorite sport. Those who suffer from rheumatism
can find a cure in numerous thermal baths such as the one in Carumas. Hundreds of people
go to these fountains, especially between the months of January through March.
The Port of Ilo, one of the most important of southern Peru
is an industrial and commercial center in booming development.
