Tourism:

Pucallpa, the department's capital is the most important city. It has a twin function, both as a port on the Ucayali river and as a commercial center. Pucallpa's future is tied to profitting from transportation means to make its products arrive at the Andean and Coastal markets of Peru.

The Yarinacocha lagoon is of great beauty and is near Pucallpa. Its fauna is varied, the outstanding species are otorongos, sajinos, sachavacas and ronsocos, birds such as the paujil and the pavo de monte. This department hols the largest mills, paper pulp plants, and the Cerveza San Juan beer plant.

Ucayali offers similar touristic attractions than those of Loreto, because of their nature.
